The eight years of President Muhammadu Buhari witnessed the defence expenditure of twenty billions yet about sixty three thousand Nigerians were killed within that period.
Senator Shehu Sani rolled out this data today via his verified Twitter account.
The senator attributed this data to Macrotrends and casualty figures to Council to Foreign relations.
Sani tweeted thus :’About twenty dollars was budgeted for Defence in the eight years of this administration and over 63 thousand people were killed in the same period, going by the financial figures from Macrotrends and casaulty figures from Council on Foreign relations. The Buhari regime.’
There were mixed reactions to Sani tweets.
A Twitter account holder with the name Adepoju, scored the Buhari administration high on infrastructural development but argued that the administration failed on security and economy.
Said Adepoju :’As much as I scored his administration high in infrastructural development, he failed completely in security and economy. I still can’t believe I will need 1.2m Naira to buy 1m CFA when under PDP 1m Naira will give you 3.2m CFA. When I remember this, it hurts me deep.’
However, a Twitter account holder with the name Amoo Olufemi disagreed and maintained that Buhari tried his best.
Olufemi tweeted thus :’Sir, do the mathematics and you will appreciate the effort from President Muhammadu Buhari on security matters. About 20 billion to secure over 200 million people in a country on a land mass of 923,768 km2 bordered by countries with pockets of insurgencies or war.’
The Pond News understands that is the country Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu shall govern as from May 29, 2023.
