The NUJ, Delta State Council has received with profound shock and deep sorrow, the sudden passing of Comrade Matthew Ochei, member of the Asaba Correspondents Chapel.
This tragic development which occurred in the early hours of today, after a brief illness has cast a pall of grief over the chapel and entire Council.
The loss is a painful reminder of the fragility of life and has left many who knew Comrade Ochei in deep anguish, given his warmth and contributions to the Union.
At this moment of immense grief, The NUJ stands in solidarity with the bereaved family, sharing in their sorrow and pain. We extend our heartfelt condolences and pray that God, in His infinite mercy, grants the family the strength, comfort, and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
May the soul of the departed rest in perfect peace, and may his memories remain a source of strength and consolation to us all.
