The Pointer :Rewriting civil service rule
Within the week The Pointer newspaper was in the news for the wrong reason.It is what reporters say, news coming to the newsroom .
A lot of scheming is going on as regards the choice of the next general manager.
Dr Ebenezer Okorodudu, the chairman of The Pointer board is saying loud and clear it is a crime to be a senior staff and competent.
He not only threw the gate for GM open for staff from level 15 to 17.
He also said that staff with less than seven years in service should not participate in the interview.
The whole scenario is not only absurd but smacks of rewriting civil service rule.
The Head of Service and the supervising Ministry of Information should call him to order .

The PDP governors meeting
Yesterday the PDP governors after a meeting in Asaba vowed to end the crisis plaguing the party since the 2023 presidential election defeat.
In their communique, the governors regretted the crisis and that they were scout ready to put it behind them.
But they failed to mention the Chief Nyesom Wike factor in the crisis.
Until they are able to deal with the Wike issue, they are merely pouring water on duck back.
Recall that prior to the 2023 presidential election, they met in Asaba and agreed that the presidential candidate of the PDP should come from the south.
The rest is history as Senator Ifeanyi Okowa became the running mate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
It is hoped that history would not repeat itself.

Urhobo state jokers
Following the aggressive push of Senator Ned Nwoko for Anioma State creation, some copy cats and jokers are already calling for the creation of Urhobo state.
Instead of such people to join forces with Ned Nwoko, they are angling for Urhobo state.
Translation: Change Delta central senatorial district into state.
Then Delta South senatorial senatorial district would be a state.
It is the height of political alchemy fueled by greed, avarice and delusions.

It is impossible for Delta State to be split into three states and the other states of the nation would be clapping their hands.
Those Urhobo copycats should understand the political reality.
AIf Anioma State is eventually created, the remaining part would be Delta State and not Urhobo state. Period.
