Senator Omo Agege versus Oborevwori
Senator Ovie Omo Agege, former deputy senate president and APC 2023 governorship candidate needs no introduction.
He is an important stakeholder still very much interested in the affairs of the state with the burning desire that he would the governor of Delta some day.
Within the week, he took Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to the cleaners. His sentiment is that apart from the flyover bridges in Warri, there was really nothing to show for the so-called MORE Agenda of the government.
The governor did not reply but his media handlers went on overdrive.
Instead of such media advisers to address the issues raised, they starting attacking the personality of the distinguished senator.
This is certainly how not to write rejoinders and a clear demonstration of poor understanding of their job description.
If these media aides do not know the achievements of their principal , is very unfortunate.
Address issues and like what the Americans would say, shoot the message and not the messenger.

The anti grazing seminar in Agbor

Sometimes government officials make mockery of themselves.
One of such was the anti grazing seminar held in Agbor, headquarters of Ika south LGA.
The arrow head of the seminar is a professional journalist, now an executive assistant to Governor on enlightenment.
The tragedy is that person in question is yet to be enlightened on the anti grazing law.
The law banning open grazing was passed during Governor Ifeanyi Okowa era but for some curious reasons, Oborevwori administration is foot dragging.
The two Ika local government have been overrun by the Fulani cattle rearers.
Both the police and other security operatives are looking the other way.
Yet there is a government in place which primary duty is the security and welfare of the citizens.
The government must wake up from slumber and implement its own laws.

New dawn for Sport Commission?

The news coming from the Delta State Sports Commission is very cheerful, to say the least.
That the chairman of the Sport Commission Mr Joshua Onoriode Oborevwori, the younger brother to the state governor had settled the unpaid salaries of Delta Queens, a football club. Also funds had been released to Warri Wolves football club.
These daughters and sons of Delta were owed salaries running into many months. Kudos to the younger Oborevwori.
The Pond News editorial policy is journalism for public good. And so the devil must be given his due.
However, our advocacy journalism frowns at sychopancy in opinion and editorial writings.
We publish all shades of news fast and accurate
But we are highly stingy in the province of advocacy journalism.
Onoriode Oborevwori has started on a good note but the moral burden is still there.
He got the position not because he was the best but because of blood connection.
That is why he must work hard beyond the average to clean that tag of favouritism.
