The Bishop of the Diocese of Oleh, Anglican Communion Rt. Revd Bishop Usiowoma Aruakpor has stated that disunity is amongst the reasons the Isoko ethnic nationality is trailing behind other ethnic groups in the state.

He said this while delivering his message recently during the 2nd Session of the 8th Synod of the Oleh Diocese of the Anglican Communion at St. Paul Anglican Church, Ozoro Isoko North Local Government areas.

According to him, “It is painful and atrocious to see Isoko trailing behind other ethnic nationalities in the state. Isoko as an ethnic nationality is not where she is supposed to be; no thanks to high level of disunity, lack of regard, lack of trust and established leadership among the political class in spite of all the efforts of the Isoko Church Leaders Forum and Isoko Development Union (IDU).’

Aruakpor stated that, disunity has made Isoko land to lose out in so many fronts. While calling on Isoko political leaders to bridge the gap and throw away greed and selfishness and take up the interest of Isoko as their central concern.

On the insecurity in the country, Aruakpor urged the Isoko people to be vigilant. “It is erroneous for anybody to think that these bandits/ unknown gunmen are far from us. There is need to build up a tight security network across the land.’, he said.
