The Peoples Democratic Party has said that some APC governors and APC presidential candidate Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu are fighting President Muhammadu Buhari because of his quest to conduct free, fair and credible elections.
Mr Charles Aniagwu, spokesman for PDP presidential campaign council canvassed this view today while speaking to reporters in Asaba.
Aniagwu said that the determination of Buhari to leave a legacy of transparent election was giving Tinubu and APC governors sleepless nights.
He stated that Buhari might had failed in some areas of governance but the devil must be given his due as regards Buhari preparation for this month election.
Aniagwu observed that the APC was very jittery about the Naira redesign policy for it thwarts its objective of vote buying with old Naira notes.
Aniagwu said: ‘Why is the APC going to court to seek extension of the old notes rather ask the court to compel the CBN to release more new notes to the populace?
Why the APC have been very busy fighting Muhammadu Buhari and the CBN governor because they know that they are losing this election, we are confident that we want the election to hold tomorrow so that we can begin the process of recovery.’
The PDP spokesman said APC was doing everything possible so that this month election would be postponed.
He told Nigerians about the plans of APC to truncate the transition procees, adding however that INEC would not fall for such tactics.
On the PDP preparation for this month election, Aniagwu disclosed that the Atiku-Okowa ticket was ready, adding that unlike other presidential candidates who identify the problems of the country, the PDP standard bearer identified the problems and has the blueprint to solve them.
Aniagwu explained further:'”Atiku-Okowa are very much ready for the purpose of hitting the ground running from day one because the issues are very well known to us and we have been able to speak to the how with respect to what we have said we are going to do.
We are not like other presidential candidates that are talking about what they are going to do without talking about how they are going to do it.”
