Delta State Government has said that the prevailing peace and security in the state would have been impossible without the collaboration of the various stakeholders in the state.
The Governor of Delta State and Vice Presidential Candidate of the PDP, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, made this known during the thanksgiving service to commemorate the 62nd Independence Anniversary of Nigeria at the Government House Chapel, Asaba.
Okowa, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Chief Patrick Ukah, stated that his administration had always maintained a robust relationship with the state legislature, traditional institutions, religious leaders and security agencies in the state.
He noted that the collaborative efforts with the various stakeholders had helped his administration to record successes in the security of the state, while commending the security agencies for their commitment to their duties.
Earlier in his sermon, Rev. Gideon Oyibo admonished Nigerians to continue to co-exist as one people, adding that the unity of the country was the bedrock of its strength.
The only lesson at the thanksgiving service was read by the SSG, on behalf of the governor, and taken from 1samuel11:1-13.
Prayers were said for the country, state, the governor and his family.
