The Delta State Government says it will continue to interface with the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs (MNDA) towards the goal of sustainable and impactful social-economic development of the Niger Delta region.
Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG), Chief Patrick Ukah, made this known during the 5th National Council on Niger Delta, which was held at the Le Meridien Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The SSG said the state government was determined to work in synergy with MNDA to utilize the opportunities available through its interventionists programmes to bring development to the people of the state.
He said the state government has reworked the existing administrative arrangements for interface between the State’s Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA’s) and the MNDA in order to ensure a more effective linkage between them.
Ukah said the theme of the council meeting “Harnessing 21st Century Development Initiatives and Strategies for Greater Development Impacts In Niger Delta Region” was apt as it will further assist in building a diversified, self-reliant economy that states in the region were yearning for.
The SSG noted that the administration of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa had maintained a very strong commitment to infrastructural development for social economic development of the state.
He equally noted that the state government will continue to welcome collaborative efforts to enhance the rapid realization of this vision.
