The University of Delta, Agbor is poised to produce employers of labour instead of job seekers.
Prof Stella Chiemeke, the vice Chancellor of the university stated this recently in Agbor at the first matriculation of the institution.
The VC said as a deliberate effort students would be taught how to be productive to tackle the unemployment situation in the country.
Said the VC:’We are firmly positioned to solve the unemployment problems in Delta State and Nigera. Therefore, graduates of this university cannot join the army of job seekers in the nation, they will be owners of jobs and pioneers in some years.’
She disclosed that 2004 students were admitted into the faculties of arts, education, engineering, environmental science, management and social sciences.
Chiemeke lauded Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for establishing the university with campuses at Agbor, Owa Oyibu and Owa Alero.
She also congratulated the governor on his political profile as the PDP vice presidential candidate, praying God to grant Okowa success in next year election.
