Delta State Government has reiterated its commitment to continue to support any project and efforts that would sustain successful performances for education officers in the state.

This was made known by the Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu, while declaring open a one-day workshop for Education officers in Asaba recently.

The workshop was organised by the Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria in collaboration with the Delta State Ministry of Higher Education.

Dr. Ashibogu described the theme of the workshop, “Strategic Management: Key to Sustainable Successful Performance”, as apt, stating that the workshop was geared towards employing new set of approaches and methodologies for effective service delivery.

“It is hoped that at the end of this workshop, there would be visible improvement in the manner you performed your duties to stimulate enthusiasm towards the attainment of organisational goals,” he said.

He urged the participants to take good advantage of the opportunity given them to broaden their knowledge and enhance competence in their area of management.

Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr Anthony Nwokolobia, has described the workshop as a reflection of the ministry’s commitment to continuous training and retraining of its strategic officers for effective service delivery.

He said that the training was in tandem with the human capacity building agenda of the Okowa Administration, adding that it was designed to sharpen the managerial skills of education officers in the state.

Some of the topics lined up for discourse included Strategic Management and Public Service Productivity and Strategic Tools for Optimal Performances in Public Service, among others.
