The Economist endorses Obi

The prestigious British magazine, The Economist has endorsed Mr Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate as its preferred winner.
In its 16th February Leader,( editorial), the magazine argued that Obi offers the best hope for Africa ailing giant of Africa.
The international magazine observed that Nigeria desperately needs a new kind of leadership.
The first sentence is a summary of the type of leadership that plague the country.
It reads :”Nigeria has been cursed with bad leaders”
The Economist said that Nigerians leaders at all levels were not interested in service but how to steal the oil money and that corruption was a national trademark.
The editorial also talked about highly educated and energetic youth who are unfortunately unemployed.
The editorial ended with warning : if Nigeria misses Obi presidency, then the ailing giant shall be a source of disgrace and regret to the African continent.
The Economist editorial tweets so far attracted over 1,147 retweets and 2,189 likes.
The Pond News understands that the popularity of Peter Obi is beyond imagination and if the youths deploy that energy in voting, Obi is the most likely next president of Nigeria.
It would be recalled that a leading figure of Afenifere, the Pan Yoruba socio-cultural group ,Chief Ayo Adebanjo warned of the dire consequences of rigging this Saturday presidential election.
Adebanjo predicted that should Obi fails to win the election, that would be the end of Nigeria as a country.
