If you are wearing tattoos on your body or about to get some ,you are inviting cancer, the deadly disease.
The experts therefore warned Nigerians on the risk of blood cancer linked to tattoos.
A consultant clinical oncologist Dr Charles Okwonna speaking to national newspaper said that the location and type of tattoo ink used cause blood cancers.
He explained that the process of tattooing involves injecting ink under the skin, where it can migrate into the lymphatic system and reach lymph nodes.
Said the medical expert :’One thing I would also like to point out is that the ink may not just be the single most important factor. There are also so many other factors like the lifestyle of the person doing tattoos, does the person smokes, and so many of those risk behaviours predisposed to cancers. So, it’s like a conglomeration of factors.’
