There are strong indications that thirteen out of the registered eighteen political parties may not participate in this month general election.
The 13 political parties have issued warning to INEC hinging their reason of the possibility of further extending the deadline of February 10 for currency swap.
Speaking in Abuja this afternoon, a coalition of party chairmen warned CBN not to do anything that might disrupt the February election.
The national chairman of the Action Alliance, Mr Kenneth Udeze said it was not in the interest to get another deadline for the use of old Naira notes.
Said Udeze :’We hereby announce that at least 13 out of the 18 political parties in Nigeria will not be interested in the 2023 general election and indeed we shall withdraw our participation from the electoral process if this currency policies are suspended or cancelled or if the deadline is further shifted.’
The Pond News understands that Kaduna, Kogi and Zamfara states are already in court praying for another extension deadline of the currency swap.
