Strong indications emerged why Senator Ned Nwoko representing Delta North senatorial district on the platform of PDP did not participate in last Saturday council polls.
The senator felt betrayed by his party as the structures in his local government areas, Aniocha North LGA had been hijacked by Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, the former governor of Delta State.
The Pond News learnt on good authority that Nwoko was in his country home in Idumuje-Gboko but did not bother to vote.
It could be recalled that Senator Joel Onowakpo Thomas of Delta South Senatorial District and Senator Ede Dafinone of Delta Central senatorial district participated in the council polls.
However, both APC senators denounced the polls as sham.
The case of Ned Nwoko is that the powerful cabal in the party are sidelining the billionaire senator because of the senatorial ambition of Okowa.
Political watchers believe that Okowa wants to return to the Senate in 2027
The Pond News understands that Ned Nwoko has systematically begun to boycott the PDP activities as he was conspicuously absent at the PDP mega rally held in Asaba.
The senator ambition for now is the fight to create Anioma State.
