The Holy Writ says ,let there be light and there was light in the whole world.
The reverse is the case in Ndokwa nation despite the spirited efforts of Senator Ned Nwoko to effect the Okpai step down in Ndokwa East local government area of Delta State.
Meeting in Kwale recently ,some Ndokwa leaders were blowing the wind as regards ending more than two decades of darkness in Ndokwa nation.

Addressing the Ndokwa nation in Kwale, the president general of the Ndokwa Neku Union, Chief Amechi Asuguni said that the era of darkness in Ndokwa nation shall soon be over.
Hear Asuguni:’The union engagement with the Minister of Power and Energy on the Okpai IPP Stepdown project was successful, expressing optimism that the intervention would translate into improved electricity supply for host communities.’
The Pond News recalled that ‘Light Up Ndokwa Nation’ protest in June took the state by storm.
The Pond News understands that some Ndokwa politicians tried to abort the protest.
It is also on record r that after the protest, the deputy governor,. Sir Monday Onyeme, son of the soil, promised on national television in June 2025 that electricity would be restored in Ndokwa nation within two weeks.
And just recently, the deputy governor at the stakeholders meeting in Kwale made another promise about Okpai IPP Stepdown.
He told his people : ‘As it concerns power, we are fully aware of the importance of the Okpai IPP Stepdown project. We are working in synergy with federal authorities and stakeholders to ensure that the people who host the light also see the light in their homes and businesses’.
Empty promises continue to plague the people from their leaders as regards electricity in Ndokwa nation.
The Pond News understands that a national legislator from Ndokwa nation for some curious reasons is one of those against the Okpai IPP Stepdown.
