A famous Nigerian lawyer, Mr Femi Falana(SAN) took swipe on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing as a tribalist with total disregard for the federal character principle.

Falana expressed this sentiments today while speaking on Channels Television Sunrise programme monitored in Asaba, Delta State capital.

The lawyer argued that it was constitutionally wrong for both the chairman of EFCC and chairman of ICPC to come from the South West zone.

Falana anchored his argument on the Federal Character Commission Act and section 14 of the 1999 constitution.

Mr Ola Olukoyede, chairman of EFCC and Prof Bolaji Owasanonye are from the South West zone.

Falana thundered thus :’If you are going to have the EFCC and the ICPC, the heads cannot come from this same zone. If there are two positions in the public service, one must go to the North and one must go to the South. If there are four, two must go the South, and two must go to the North. If there are six, one must go to each geopolitical zone. That is the law in Nigeria today.

So I am not comfortable with the fact that the heads of the EFFC and ICPC are from the same zone.’

The Pond News understands that most of the president appointments are from Lagos and the South West.

Tinubu is showing streak of sectionalism, the very crime former President Muhammadu Buhari was infamous for.

It could be recalled that Buhari appointed majority of the Heads of the security agencies from the north.

The Pond News investigation revealed that most of the key and critical appointees of Tinubu are from Lagos State.

Apart from the offensive Moslem Moslem presidency, Tinubu believes that only Yorubas should occupy sensitive political positions.
