SIDE KICK . Newspaper bombs gov on selective media engagement

A leading online newspaper editorial ( Ndokwa Reporters) this morning berated the Óborevwori administration on selective media engagement and apparent neglect of local journalists.

The newspaper argued that it was a mistake beyond compare for the administration to patronize national media at the expense of local reporters who diligently and daily report the activities of government.

The newspaper queried the guided tour of some selected national editors.

The newspaper also believed that the belated meeting between Delta state NUJ and government would achieve nothing.

In view of the newspaper, until the government strategically engage the members of community newspaper publishers and Delta Online Publishers Forum , that government media handlers were simply blowing the winds.

Said the editorial :’ Journalism like politics is local . And so is media management……The Association of Community newspaper publishers of Nigeria, who print and circulate within the grassroots, and the Delta Online Publishers Forum, a powerful body of digital media entrepreneurs with statewide reach, remain critical to shaping public opinion and government perception in Delta state.’

The Pond News understands that media managers of the government belong to the old school of analogue journalism.

The craze now is online or digital journalism and that explains why President Donald John Trump of United States has a reserved place for online journalists in the White House.

The Oborevwori administration and his media managers should stop living in the past and engage the new media for their own benefits.
