The President elect Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu was yesterday flown to Europe amidst his deteriorating health condition.
Tinubu travelled to United Kingdom based on his doctors’ advice.
Initially, the plan was to fly the doctors from United Kingdom so that he could be treated here in Nigeria.
But the British doctors refused, saying that the sophiscated medical equipment could not be moved to Nigeria.
The latest bout of sickness, The Pond News understands is as result of last Saturday hectic governorship election.
The nature of sickness is also closely guarded secrets with some of the aides saying that Tinubu was in the country hale and hearty.
But a source confirmed that Tinubu travelled to Europe yesterday but was not sure whether it was United Kingdom or France.
The source explained thus:’Tinubu has left for Europe for medical care. He fell ill after voting on Saturday during Lagos governorship election. He was attended to by local doctors but he has left for Europe for proper medical care.
He initially said his doctors should be brought down to Nigeria for him and that when things die down, he would leave. But I have confirmed that he has left last night because he is definitely ill.’
The Pond News understands that during the APC presidential primary, Tinubu was escorted to the stage by his spouse, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
It was difficult for Tinubu as APC presidential candidate to hold the party flag as it took the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari to steady Tinubu shaking hands
During the presidential campaign, Tinubu did not attend most of them due to ill health.
Even the ones he attended, he made a lot of mistakes giving commendians materials to joke with.
In Warri, Delta State, Tinubu called Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the governorship candidate of Niger Delta.
The most recent embarrassing moment for the APC and indeed Nigeria, was when he declared himself the governor of Nigeria while receiving his certificate of return from INEC chairman Prof Mahmoud Yakubu in Abuja.
It would be recalled that the nearly eight years of President Muhammadu Buhari was spent most of the times in United Kingdom because of the health challenges of the president.
Nigerians shall be plagued by another absentee president because of ill health.
