Delta State Government has assured security agencies in the state of its continued support, towards sustaining the existing peace and security in the state.
Secretary to the Delta State Government Chief Patrick Ukah, gave the assurance during a dinner party, organised by officers and men of the 63 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Asaba at the Brigade’s Officers Mess to felicitate the Brigade Commander, David Saraso, who was recently promoted to the rank of a Major General in the Nigerian Army.
Ukah stated that the state had always been lucky as heads of security agencies posted to it always hit the ground running, which he said was an advantage the state had over others in the area of peace and security in the country.
He congratulated Major General Saraso on his promotion and urged him not to rest on his oars, but continue to work hard wherever he would be posted to and expressed optimism that General Saraso would diligently carry out any assignment given to him to the admiration of everyone.
In his remarks, General Saraso said he was overwhelmed and humbled by the gesture of the officers and men of the brigade for the honour done him and urged them to be committed to their duties.
Saraso said his tour of duties in the state would always remain evergreen in his memory, as Delta State was a blessing to him because within a short period of his stay in the state, he had been promoted to the exalted rank of a Major General.
He commended the State government for the support he enjoyed during his stay as the Brigade Commander and assured that he would always be a good ambassador of the state wherever he found himself.
