Ex – Super Eagles midfield meastro, Edema Fuludu ( MON ), has restated his appeal for the rehabilitation of the delapidating Warri Township Stadium in Delta State.
He made the appeal in a media interaction with newsmen in Warri.
Fuludu who is the President of the Agbarha Warri League, lamented that the sordid state of the stadium was a financial monumental waste to Delta State.
The former Chairman of Delta Football Association ( DFA ) recalled that huge sum of money was used in the rehabilitation of the the beleaguered stadium during former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan administration.
He stated that the stadium hosted the under 17 Football World Cup and that Warri had produced great sportsmen and women in the state and country.
Fuludu posited that Warri deserved a befitting and not a moribund stadium, adding that rehabilitation of the stadium would boost sporting activities and also remove a lot of youths from the streets in the economic hub of the state.
He opined that Warri was a reservoir of untapped talented sports youths
.
Fuludu recalled that he made a similar call some time ago, saying that he repeated the call because, according to him, the stadium, if rehabilitated, would be useful in the hosting of the forthcoming National Sports Festival in the state.
He appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, corporate bodies and well meaning sports individuals to urgently give his appeal a positive response.
