The attention of Osayi Ogiamien of Benin city has been drawn to a misleading story of burnt Ekiosa market.
The Ogiamien family clarified that the burnt property belongs to late Osayi Ogiamien situated at 109, Sakponba road Benin city and not Ekiosa market.
In a statement signed by Dr Karo Amata and Mrs Kome Egerogo, the family called on the state Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki not to be deceived by some traders who are eager to collect money as damages.
The family implored the governor to send government officials to visit the scene.
For the avoidance of doubt, no portion or part of Ekiosa market was affected by last Tuesday fire.
They also dunked as tissues of lies the reported burning of about 20 shops and the so called loss of billions of Naira by the imaginery traders.
The family also appealed to the governor to use his good offices to come to their aid in this moment of pain and distress.
