Today, the police and other security operatives disrupted a rally in support of Mr Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate in Abakaliki in Ebonyi State.
Reports reaching The Pond news say the security agencies started tear gassing supporters of Labour Party that gathered at the Pastoral Centre of the Catholic Church in Abakaliki.
It was a running battle between the security operatives and labour Party members.
One the youths told newsmen:’Peter Obi is our president. The rally must hold. They are shooting directly into the church. This is despicable. The present government in Ebonyi State is full of hypocrisy. Umahi said on TV that the rally can hold. We knew he was lying. Obi remains our president come 2023′.
The Pond news understands that those who were saying that Obi has no structures are becoming jittery because of the popularity of the Labour Party presidential candidate.
