A leading politician in Bomadi LGA Hon Deinghan Macauley today criticized the people of Delta North for abandoning their son, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in last Saturday presidential and national assembly elections.
Macauley said it was a thing of regret and sadness that the Anioma people deserted Okowa when it mattered most.
He canvassed these views in a press statement issued in Warri.
Macauley who is Executive Assistant on Media to the governor argued that by the massive infrastructures built by the governor in Delta North, it was the height of ingratitude for the Anioma people to vote against Okowa.
The Pond News understands that Labour Party won in Delta State in the presidential election but PDP won in Bomadi LGA.
The politician observed that it was a stroke of luck that made Ned Nwoko to win the senatorial seat in Delta North.
He also called on the Anioma people to apologise to the governor.
Part of the statement reads:’I owe no apology to the people of Delta North for their deliberate refusal to vote for their son, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa. They should should apologise to him before nemesis catches them. Okowa invested much on his people.’
He called on Delta North and indeed the whole of Delta State to vote for Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori in the governorship election so as to build on the legacy of the Okowa administration.
