The Peoples Democratic Party has advised Chief Edwin Clark to maintained a dignified silence on political issues and remains an elder statesman.
Mr Charles Aniagwu, a spokesman for the PDP presidential campaign council gave this piece of advice while speaking to reporters in Asaba today.
Aniagwu was reacting to yesterday Clark letter to Okowa asking him to resign as vice presidential candidate of PDP.
Aniagwu said that Clark over the years had built a character of integrity and should not drag himself into the murky waters of politics.
Aniagwu argued that given Clark age, experience, contribution to national governance, it was only advisable that the elder statesman should not drag his name into mud.
The PDP spokesman observed that the time was too short for Clark to mortgage his hard won reputation.
On the APC presidential candidate Senator Bola Tinubu, Aniagwu argued that Tinubu was highly intolerant of different political views, adding that such a man was incapable of making a good president.
He criticized a situation where campaign billboards of other parties are destroyed in Lagos.
Aniagwu maintained that his principal , Atiku Abubakar was very tolerant of different political views.
He said that campaign billboards of all parties are allowed to stand in Adamawa state.
