It was a gathering of Delta State top government functionaries, Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) heavy weights and people from all walks of life at Patani, Patani Local Government Area, for the three years memorial thanksgiving service of Magdalene Zipuamere Egukawhore at the Cathedral Church of St. Matthew Anglican Communion, Patani.
Those in attendance were Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief Patrick Ukah, PDP state Chairman, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso, Chief of Staff, Hon. Festus Agas, serving Commissioners including Dr. Barry Gbe, Hon. Nkechi Chukwurah, Hon. Michael Okah and Chief Godspower Asiuwhu.
Also present were former Commissioners, Chief Ebenezer Okorodudu and Chief Frank Omare, as well as Director General, Warri, Uvwie and Environs Development Agency, Comrade Ovuozuorie Marculay, and Olorogun Fred Majemite among others.
The officiating Minister, Venerable Simeon Ariye, in a sermon urged all to continue to be good to people by providing them with their needs in order to attract rewards from God.
Ariye stated that for Christians to inherit the kingdom of heaven, they must present themselves to the Lord as a child and living sacrifices in the hands of God for great things to happen as they need the Lord to help, empower and strengthen them.
In his remarks, Okowa described the celebrant, Chief Victor Emonena Egukawhore, as a friend of the government, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and a man of the people who had contributed to the development of his community.
He urged him not to relent in his efforts to carry his people along in the scheme of things, praying God to grant him and his family peace.
The celebrant, Egukawhore, thanked all for the honour done the family by attending the thanksgiving service and pledged to continue to do his best in the service of God and humanity.
The service featured special thanksgiving by the family of Egukawhore.
