The PDP in Delta State said today that the APC governorship candidate, Senator Ovie Omo Agege is too clannish to be a state governor and that Deltans need a liberal minded person as the next governor.
The party also said it believes in decent campaign rather than resort to propaganda.
Mr Charles Aniagwu, the State Information Commissioner shared these sentiments in a press statement today.
The Commissioner explained that most of the projects attracted to the state as deputy Senate president are all located in his village.
Said Aniagwu :’We are not also uninformed of how he(Omo Agege) hijacked surveillance contracts meant for the people of the state especially the Urhobos and the Isoko people while paying them pittance.
Because we are decent people, we need not emphasise the fact that the few things he brought into Delta are largely warehoused in his Orogun community, hence he is not just tribal but clannish’.
The state chief image marker argued that the PDP as a party was campaigning on the massive infrastructural development of the Okowa administration.
Aniagwu observed that Hon Sheriff Oborevwori MORE agenda was anchored on continuity in governance , development for Deltans and enhanced peace and security in the state.
The State Information Commissioner stated that PDP as a party does not believe in name callings but if pushed to the walls shall open the can of worms of the APC governorship candidate.
Listen to Aniagwu :”As a government and as a political party, we have refrained from engaging in likewise manner because we believe that we are not just decent people but because we have enormous achievements in the state to campaign with.
However, the deputy president of the Senate and APC guber candidate should be reminded that we are not unaware of his trial for fraud in the United States of America and how he desecrated the hallowed Chambers of the Senate with the mace saga’.
He therefore called on Deltans to ignore the attempts of the APC to demonize the PDP, adding that they should vote for the PDP governorship candidate and other candidates in next Saturday governorship and House of Assembly elections.
