Delta State Civil Society Community yesterday expressed its gratitude to the former governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for his eight years impactful leadership, saying that his legacies and achievements would stand the test of time.
The group also acknowledged Okowa unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people of Delta State.
In a statement signed by Activist Rex Emojite Anighoro, BOT chairman, Deacon OKezi Odugala, BOT secretary, Comrade Venture Daniel Ewenrhamre, president, Amb.Augusta Keneboh, vice president and Activist Egbe Ambrose, secretary, the civil society community lauded okowa for his commitment to good governance.
The group observed thus :’Throughout your tenure, you have demonstrated a remarkable dedication to good governance, transparency, and inclusivity. Your administration has consistently engaged with civil society organizations, fostering an environment that encouraged open dialogue, active participation, and collaboration in decision-making processes. Your willingness to listen to the concerns, ideas, and suggestions of civil society groups were instrumental in fostering a more inclusive and responsive government.
Under your able leadership, Delta State had witnessed significant progress in various sectors. Your steadfast commitment to improving healthcare services led to the establishment of state-of-the-art medical facilities, the revitalization of primary healthcare centers, and the implementation of innovative health programs. Your tireless efforts in the education sector resulted in the provision of quality education for all, ensuring that young minds in Delta State were equipped with the necessary tools for a brighter future.’
The civil society group commended the former governor for his commitment to sustainable development and environmental preservation.
It also acknowledged the beautification of cities, waste management projects and renewable energy programs as part of his achievements.
The group further stated thus:’Your administration’s focus on economic empowerment, job creation, and poverty alleviation has been truly commendable. Through various skill acquisition programs, entrepreneurship support, and investment in key sectors such as agriculture and infrastructure, you positively impacted the lives of countless individuals and families in Delta State. The group wished the governor the best in his future endeavors, adding that the civil society group would continue to cherish and celebrate him for making positive impact on the lives of Deltans.
