The Delta State Information Commissioner Mr Charles Aniagwu said that Senator Ifeanyi Okowa does not take offence on Chief Edwin Clark for not supporting his political ambition as vice president.
Rather it was Clark constitutional right to support any political party or presidential candidate.
Aniagwu in press statement today reacting to the call of Clark that Okowa should resign as vice presidential candidate of PDP in an open letter.
Aniagwu argued that Atiku Abubakar won the PDP presidential fair and square, adding it was the right of Atiku to choose his running mate.
The Information Commissioner said that Clark has shown his preference for another presidential candidate, adding the Atiku-Okowa presidential ticket would not lose sleep over that.
Aniagwu noted that up to 2019 the respected elder statesman supported Okowa and the PDP.
Said Aniagwu :’We will continue to respect Chief Clark despite the recent attacks on Governor Okowa and we also put it on record that the highly respected elder statesman had supported us in the past up to 2019 and had cause to commend the governor for his sterling accomplishments in the state.’
On the allegations by Clark on the misuse of N250 bn 13 per cent derivation, Aniagwu said nothing can be further from the truth.
He said the fund is being paid in quarterly instalments and the money received so far stands at N19.6 billion.
