The Delta State Polytechnic has been rated high in academic standard and its zero tolerance of exam malpractice and corruption.
These were the remarks of Ethicist Salih Yakubu of Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation today during the presentation of integrity icon of Nigeria award on Prof Emmanuel Achuenu , the rector of the polytechnic.
Yakubu said that the polytechnic was the second most ethically responsible in the south south region of Nigeria.
The international anti- corruption body appreciated the commitment of the management team despite the lean financial resources to the advancement of the polytechnic.
He said that the professional ethics award was given to both the rector and the polytechnic for being standard bearers in ethical orientation.
Speaking after receiving the award, the rector, Prof Emmanuel Achuenu observed that the award was for all members of staff for their cooperation and understanding.
Achuenu said the award was a kind of motivator to do better things in ethical standard and educational standard and value.
He promised to continue to contribute to see that the polytechnic moves to greater heights.
Others so honoured were the deputy rector, the registrar, the bursar and the school librarian.
