The defection of Governor Sheriff Óborevwori to the APC has been described as a strategic political move in the interest of Delta State in particular and Niger Delta region in general.
This was the sentiment of a leading politician and state chairman of National Rescue Movement ,Mr Emmanuel America while speaking to journalists yesterday in Asaba, the state capital.
America therefore called on all Deltans to continue to support the governor as the state would benefit more from federal presence.
America who is also the chairman of inter party relations said Óborevwori has demonstrated that he is a caring and listening leader with the interest of the masses at heart.
He therefore called on all members of the APC to sink their individual differences in the state interest and progress.
The politician argued that with no viable opposition, the governor would focus on his MORE Agenda in the provision of democratic dividends to the masses.
America also commended the state leadership of APC especially its chairman Elder Omeni Sobotie for accepting the PDP defectors.
He described Sobotie as an accomplished politician with a large heart to accommodate all shades of political opinion.
He also called in the new members to obey the rules of the APC.
