The presidential candidate of the Labour Party Mr Peter Obi today put his case across to foreign election observers insisting that he won the February 25 presidential election.
The presidential hopeful told the former president of South Africa Mr Thabo Mbeki that INEC robbed him of victory.
Obi disclosed that it was the second time he was meeting the Commonwealth observer mission to Nigeria.
He made these remarks via his verified Twitter account.
Obi stated that the meeting was part of an ongoing consultation about the controversial February 25 presidential election.
He also maintained that the discussions were very constructive and fruitful.
Obi tweeted thus:”As part of an ongoing election related consultations, I have met twice with the former President of South Africa and Head of the Commonwealth observer mission to Nigeria, H. E. Mr Thabo Mbeki and his team.
The discussions were quite constructive.”
Most foreign observers and countries criticized the electoral body for its poor conduct of the presidential and national assembly elections.
They insisted that the elections were not free and fair.
The United States Government recently lambasted INEC for the poor conduct of the polls.
The opposition PDP yesterday demonstrated to INEC headquarters in Abuja calling for the cancellation of the elections and conduct of fresh polls.
The PDP protest was led by a former vice
president of Nigeria and the PDP Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Others in the protest were the governor of Delta State and vice presidential candidate of PDP, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and PDP national chairman Dr Iyorcha Ayu.
Already both PDP and Labour Party are in court seeking the annulment of the presidential election.
The Pond News understands that most Nigerian youths believe that Peter Obi is the real winner of that election.
