Obi condemns killing of Labour Party chieftain


The security agencies have been called upon to unmask those behind the killing of a labour party chieftain in Imo state.
Reacting to the killing of Christopher Eleghu, a LP state House of Assembly candidate, Mr Peter Obi , the LP presidential candidate said he was deeply disturbed by the incident.
He described the killing as barbaric noting that the candidate house and cars were set ablaze.
Obi expressed his sadness over the event today via his verified Twitter account.
He therefore called on the federal and state security agencies to work assiduously to uncover those behind the killing.
Obi tweeted thus:”I am deeply disturbed by the evidentially targeted killing of the Labour Party State House of Assembly candidate for Onuimo LGA in Imo State, Hon. Christopher Eleghu at his home. His house and cars were reportedly set ablaze.
I condemn these heinous acts in the strongest possible terms. Such acts violate our spirit of security, civility and the recently signed Peace Accord. Federal and state security agencies must work assiduously to uncover those behind this killing. ‘
