Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has ridiculed the All Progressives Congress (APC) for launching its governorship campaign just seven days before the State’s election scheduled for November 8, 2025.
Soludo, who is seeking re-election under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), said the late commencement of the APC campaign showed that the party was unprepared and unserious about the contest.
His remarks came a few hours after the APC officially flagged off its campaign at the All Saints Cathedral Field in Onitsha, an event attended by several party leaders, including Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, and thousands of party supporters.
Addressing supporters during an APGA rally at the Njikoka Local Government Headquarters in Abagana, Soludo urged residents to come out in large numbers on election day and reject the APC and other opposition parties at the polls.
“It is shocking and laughable that a major political party like the APC would begin its campaign just one week before the election,” Soludo said. “It only confirms that their candidate is merely seeking cheap popularity.
“On election day, take whatever money they offer you and still vote them out. What we have achieved in the past three years is enough proof that we deserve another term.”
The event also featured a ₦50 million donation from supporters toward Soludo’s re-election campaign.
