Fear and apprehension gripped Aso Rock today over the protest demanding the freedom of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra.
All roads to Aso Rock were blocked by fierce looking police and other security operatives.
A freelance reporter with The Pond News in Abuja said the tension in the capital territory was so thick that you can cut it with a knife.
The demonstration which is midwife by Omoyele Sowore, publisher of Sahara Reporter shocked Aso Rock apologists who initially doubted the success of the protest.
The protest according to our reporter was so wide spread causing traffic disruptions at major key entry points into the Federal Capital Territory.
Even staff of the presidential villa were frisked and denied entry into the parking lots meant for them.
Most of the staff wore long faces.
One complained bitterly :’ Please can someone find out what is going on in the Villa? All access roads are blocked. Nobody is allowed in, even with tags .’
Commuters along the Keffi- Abuja Expressway were in a snail like movement.
