The Consultant to the Asagba of Asaba Asagba Prof Obi Chike Edozien CFR on land matters in Asaba, Ogbueshi Ofili Mordi has called out the Provost of the Federal College of Education, Asaba, Prof. Anene Okeakwa to produce the documents that authorized her to give approval for illegal miners to carry out mining activities under the national grid within the institution premises.
Mordi stated this today following a statement that was credited to the Provost of the College of Education Technical Asaba, Prof. Anene Okeakwa who affirmed that she authorized the miners to carry out mining activities within the said land which belong to the Asagba of Asaba.
Mordi has therefore asked Okeakwa to come out with evidence that shows she has the right to allocate land that has already been given to the Asagba for the building of vocational centres.
The consultant who visited the land discovered that despite all warning to the Provost to ask the illegal miners to stop their activities, it has all fell on deaf ears.
He noted that a lot of damages has already been done to the said land which could in the future cause more problem to the national power grid and as well further endanger the life of students.
He therefore called on the college Provost to stop the act in order as the ripple effect of the escavated portion could take years to sand fill to achieve the main purpose while the land is to be used.
