The Attorney -General and Commissioner for Justice, Delta State, Mr. Isaiah Bozimo has assured Law Officers in the Ministry of Justice that capacity development for them would be sustained to ensure they are better equipped to deliver their official responsibilities effectively.

Mr. Bozimo gave this assurance in an interview with newsmen in preparation for a training programme on Contract Drafting for officers in the Ministry of Justice.

He stated that trainings for Law Officers would be organised in phases such that every officer would benefit, adding that the initiative was geared towards ensuring that Officers were adequately equipped with the needed skills to perform optimally in their official assignments .

According to the Honourable Attorney-General, these trainings which have already kicked off with sessions on Advocacy and Case Preparation Development, are part of the Ministry’s commitment to developing Law Officers.

He disclosed that the Ministry would soon have a capacity building training on Criminal and Civil Procedures.

He stated that the Contract Drafting training, was to ensure that commercial agreements drafted by Law Officers in the Ministry are fit for purpose.

Speaking earlier, the Resource Person for the Contract Drafting training, Mrs Laura Alakija, noted that the role of the Ministry of Justice was pivotal to the progress and development of any State.

She said that the training was aimed at ensuring that the law Officers are up to date with the modern trends in drafting Commercial Contracts adding that the drafting team of the Ministry needs to be on top of their game at all times.

She said that the training was also designed to act as a refresher course on different areas of Commercial Contracts.
