The Peoples Democratic Party has asked its members to grow above the present crisis and think about the interest of Nigerians.
Mr Charles Aniagwu, the PDP presidential spokesman canvassed this view today while speaking on NTA Good Morning Nigeria program monitored in Asaba, Delta State capital.
He said that the issue should not be whether the party chairman is from North or South but what is best for the nation.
Aniagwu argued that removing Dr Iyorchia Ayu at this time would spell doom for the party, adding that all party members should work towards the success of PDP in 2023.
He also said that those saying that Ayu should leave must understand what the PDP constitution say so that the party may not be trouble.
Going on memory lane, Aniagwu said that in 2006, Alhaji Umaru Yar’Adua was the president and Dr Ahmadu Ali was national chairman, adding that both were from the north.
The PDP spokesman also made reference to the era of President Goodluck Jonathan and the national chairman both from the south.
