The vice presidential candidate of the PDP and the governor of Delta State Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has made a passionate appeal to all Nigerians to join the PDP to tackle the issues of disunity, insecurity and poverty in the country.
Okowa made this appeal over the weekend in a broadcast to Nigerians, lamenting that Nigerians are suffering in midst of plenty because of the directonless leadership of the APC.
He told Nigerians that this was the time to change the course of history by supporting the Atiku/Okowa PDP presidential ticket.
He listed the huge foreign debt, insecurity, hunger, poverty and devalued Naira as some of the legacies of APC government promising that a PDP led government at the federal level has policies to solve them.
Said Okowa :’Our land contnues to dig deep in disunity and our economy is breaking away from the reach of every day hardworking Nigerians. The high rate of insecurity and the toll it takes on the peace of this country will require that we all roll up our sleeves to fight for peace’
The vice presidential candidate stated his belief in the power of democracy as an instrument of change, calling on Nigerians to use their voters to effect that change.
He said that his principal Atiku Abubakar and himself would be accessible to all Nigerians to proffer solutions to the problems of the country.
The Pond news understands that this is the first time in Nigeria a vice presidential candidate is making such broadcast.
