Barrister Raymos Guanah said it was unacceptable for university graduates to be bike riders as public means of transportation and vowed to change the ugly scenario for the better.
Guanah, an APC chieftain gunning for Patani state constituency made the vow while addressing some ‘Okada’ riders in Patani within the week.
The politician lamented a situation where university graduates roam the streets because of the inability of government to provide jobs for them.
He promised them that if elected as a legislator, he would encourage them to form cooperative societies so that they could benefit from government programmes.
He told them that both Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President and Senator Ovie Omo Agege as governor have programmes to tackle unemployment in the country.
He therefore urged them to vote for APC in all elections.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the ‘Okada’ riders ,Mr Selekowei Orutu said most his members took to bike riding as a matter of necessity.
He stated that his members would have loved to work in government establishment.
The ‘Okada’ riders therefore asked Guanah to help them to buy new bikes.
