Insecurity: Politicians go into hiding as Ada Anioma is kidnapped

The serene atmosphere of Asaba, the Delta State Capital was punctured today with the kidnapping of a former Commissioner, The Town Hall NG reports.

A top politician in Delta State and a former Commissioner for Higher Education in Delta State who recently resigned her appointment to enable her younger brother contest the Local Government Council Chairmanship election, Hon Joan Mrapkpor popularly known as Ada Anioma has been allegedly abducted.

Reports reaching The Townhall stated that the ugly incident occurred late this afternoon right inside her Church, known as King Jesus & I Church located off Delta Broadcasting Service DBS Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria.

Eye witness said “there was commotion right inside her Church close to Sooth Apartment DBS Road. We all ran due to the heavy gun shooting. It just happened about few minutes ago, one aide shot dead and a security personnel unconscious now”.

Delta State Police Command’s spokesman Bright Edafe a Superintendent of Police SP confirmed the kidnapping of the Commissioner, adding that a police officer was killed in the incident.

The Pond News understands that the Delta Online Publishers Forum recently called on the security operatives to fight the spate of insecurity in the state.
