The Ijaws in Delta South senatorial district have argued that it was the turn of Isokos to produce the next senator.
The Ijaws said for justice and equity, it was fair for Isokos to have the next senator after twenty years of Senator James Manager, an Ijaw.
High Chief Michael Johnny, an Ijaw leader and a chieftain of APC canvassed this idea while addressing the people of Ogbudugbudu, Tsekelewu, Opuama, Gbokoda, Ebrohimi and Eghoro in Warri North LGA at a campaign rally.
According to the Ijaws leader, Isokos were behind the Ijaws in producing a deputy governor for eight years and senator for twenty, it was only natural to support the Isokos.
He added that to end the marginalization of Isokos after eight years of Uduaghan as governor, both Ijaw and Itsekiris should vote for Thomas Joel Onowakpo.
Said Johnny:’Hon Joel Onowakpo Thomas is a good man. He shall bring development to Delta South when he is elected and will not take the back seat as a senator. I appeal to all our people to vote for him for fairness, equity and his capacity to deliver.’
He told the people that Onowakpo would always remember the electorates.
Earlier while addressing the crowd, Onowakpo appealed to them that he would be a senator to all the people of Delta South.
Onowakpo told the people:’I am a man that has been tested at the local government, state and federal levels. My competence and capacity to turn things around for good is not in doubt. I will make Delta South proud when you elect me as your senator.’
Some of the ward chairmen and community leaders promised to work for the victory of Onowakpo.
