Committed to the effective security surveillance of Umutu and environs, the former Eze Ugo of Umutu Kingdom in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Solomon Igwulu has donated solar energy electrification facilities and other items worth millions of naira to Umutu Divisional Police Headquarters, Umutu.
Igwulu, who spoke to newsmen after the donation, stressed that the police have to be encouraged by providing conducive working environment to enable them carry out their duties effectively.
He noted that the society is now getting complex and that there was need to provide modern facilities for the police.
Igwulu commended the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and his team for effective policing of the area.
The High Chief who also replaced some of the police properties set ablaze by unknown gunmen called on the police in Umutu not to relent in fishing out the bad eggs in the area.
He maintained that he is committed to protecting the lives of policemen and policewomen who risk their lives in ensuring that the community is safe.
Items donated to the community include; solar lights, computers, printers, motor tyres, ceiling fans, electricity generator, chairs and tables.
