Igbo Presidency Dream by Wisdom Ndisika

Igbo Presidency can not evolve until the majority North forgives them for the killing of Sadauna of Sokoto by Nigeria soldiers of Igbo thnic in the 1966 military junta led by Major Chukwua Kaduna Nzeogu.
Moreover, history is paramount as such event teaches everyone that is ready to learn mistakes of the past, the result and how to prevent a repeat.
The political history of Nigeria has mainly be in control from one direction as a fact that the country is at the mercy of the North. The writer’s pen do not in any form intend creating ethnic chaos but taken a keen observation of the political scene of our dear nation Nigeria.
However, the above assertion is uncertain in future to come as the dynamic nature will always fine its way.
The principle of the Federa Character has been a filler and none operational as enshrined in Nigeria’s Constitution ammended 1979. As expected to uphold fair representation and shun at one ethnicity dominating the political scene has failed woefully hence, the quest of one region striving to secede.
Although, the constitution does not permit any part of the nation to break out nor any president would want to be hold responsible for the tearing apart of the nation under their leadership in limelight of the then General Yakubo Gowon resistance of Ojuku’s request of self governance of Bifrans, and the present government.
Hirthetoly, come 2023 general election, tootless gbos are still chanting vigorously in support of the Former Governor of Anmbra State in person of Peter Obi. There are numerous speculations about Peter, as some opined he is the best candidate, simple, selfless and his humanitarian display. These are valid points others also stressed that he is too stingy to be Nigeria President.
It’s pertinent to note that P.O is campaigning under a minor platform and have little chance of emerging as Nigeria President. The Labour Party has also be criticized of poor funding, have little dominance over the two major Political Parties of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) and the All Progressive Congress (APC) among other factors.
However, it’s high time Nigerians had changed their nurtured delusion of ethnic politics instead of voting for individual’s capacity, competence and efficiency come 2023 general election. The dine is cast either for Nigerians to persist in another 8years of misery or sacrifice few hours in voting in a better government.
