A notorious handset snatcher, simply identified as Lucky, has been stabbed to death by an irate mob in the Iyara area of Warri.
It was gathered that the handset snatcher is a member of a gang of hoodlums that specialised in dispossessing their victims of their valuables in the area.
It was further gathered that a young girl was attacked by Lucky at the popular Akara Junction on the fateful day and that he stabbed her severally in one of her arms.
The young girl was said to have refused to let go her handset, despite the injuries from the attack, while calling for help to the annoyance of her assailant.
The girl however got a positive response from some male residents of the area who came to her rescue.
The galant male residents were said to have overpowered Lucky and stabbed him severally.
Lucky was said to have managed to escape with the injuries to the Iyara Roundabout by the Cemetery Road where he later gave up the ghost due to loss of blood.
