The Social Democratic Party governorship candidate in Delta State ,Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi has promised to pay every youth a monthly salary of thirty thousand Naira.
The salary ,according to the governorship hopeful, would run for three months after which the youths shall be gainfully employed by the state government.
Gbagi made the pledge yesterday while speaking with reporters in Asaba, the Delta State capital.
The SDP candidate said the youths would be drawn from graduates of secondary schools and teritary institutions.
He lamented that the level of unemployment was high but given adequate management of the state resources, it would be a thing of the past.
He promised to establish a level playing ground for Deltans economically so that the state could retain its lost glory.
The former Education Minister calculated that every Deltan has a debt of 165,000 Naira on his or neck, promising to fix the debt burden if elected.
He preached honesty both in government and journalism, asserting that it was dangerous for people not to be honest in public life.
He therefore called on Deltans and residents to vote for him as the next governor, adding that it would be worst for Delta State if the people get wrong in this year election.
