The Delta State government is committed to eradicating maternal death among pregnant women and children.
The wife of State Governor ,Dame Edith Okowa made the pledge today in Asaba while flagging off the maternal and children micro nutrient program.
The event which was held at the primary health centre Cable Point, Asaba, attracted pregnant women and children.
Said Dame Okowa :’The fight against nutritional deficiency among pregnant women and children cannot be overemphasized, therefore to meet this demand all hands must be on deck to achieve this goal’.
The Delta State first lady called on individuals, organizations and donor agencies to contribute to eradicating malnutrition among pregnant women and children.
She mentioned Ugo Touch of Hope for their support and generosity.
Dame Okowa also appreciated the state primary health care agency for their contributions.
The event witnessed the deworming of children and nutrient supplements given to pregnant women.
