Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu, the Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education has assured the management and staff of Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba of the completion of ongoing projects in the school.
Ashibogwu gave the pledge while inspecting some ongoing projects in the institution.
The commissioner urged the contractors on site for quick completion of all projects within the school premises, adding that a week ultimatum would be given for the facilities to be put to use.
He explained:
“The purpose of the buildings would not be actualised if the facilities are under utilised.”
He said the essence of the infrastructure was for lecturers and students to have a condusive environment for teaching and learning.
The commissioner therefore charged the contractors not to disappoint the state government.
Receiving the commissioner and his entourage to the institution, the Vice Chancellor , Prof. Ben Oghojiafo, appealed for the completion of the dual road from the school gate to the campus.
Oghojiafo conducted the ommissioner, the Permanent Secretary, Dr Anthony Nwokolobia and directors in the ministry round the various projects and sites within the institution.
The commissioner had earlier inspected the Faculty of Agriculture Science, the 500 capacity auditorium, the twin 250 capacity auditorium, Faculty of Agriculture Science Library, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, the Council Hall (Boys Hostel) and Asaba Hall (Girls Hostel).
