Govt ‘ll not protect erring contractors – Oghenesivbe

The Delta State government would not protect any contractor that failed to execute projects according to specifications.

Barrister Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Executive Assistant to governor on orientation made this observation today in Asaba.

Oghenesivbe maintained that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori was determined to execute projects to the satisfaction and happiness of all Deltans.

Speaking in an interractive session with members of indigenous correspondents chapel, he said that the governor would not protect erring contractors, rather the interest of Deltans was a top priority.

The executive assistant also said that the government has not borrowed a kobo since coming to office.

He disclosed that Oborevwori was very prudent in the management of state resources.

According to him, the governor was against wasteful spending, adding that plans and activities would follow budget projections in line with the MORE agenda.

The executive assistant promised that the MORE agenda would benefit all Deltans.

He charged journalists in the state to be objective in their reportage, adding that speculative reports and sensational headlines should be avoided.

He promised to be sensitive to the welfare of journalists, especially the indigenous correspondents chapel members.

Responding, the chairman of chapel, Comrade Kenneth Orusi thanked Oghenesivbe for the visit and promised that his members would partner with the government in the dissemination of government activities and programmes.
