Delta State Government through the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education in collaboration with Prof. Sam Ukala Foundation is organising the maiden edition of Prof. Sam Ukala Memorial Essay Writing Competition for Senior Students in public and private secondary schools in the state.
A statement from the Chairman of the Foundation, Hon. Olise Sam Ukala, indicated that the Late Prof. Sam Ukala Memorial Foundation was instituted by the governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, during the immortalisation / celebration of life ceremony of the great literary and creative works of the Late Prof. of Theatre Arts, Delta State University, Abraka on December 20, 2021.
According to him, “in the maiden edition which promises to be exciting and rewarding, schools in the state will participate in the essay writing competition.
The statement added that the competition at the Local Government level would hold on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, while the State Final had been scheduled to hold on Monday, November 28, 2022 at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Prof. Chike Edozien Secretariat, Asaba .
Hon. Olise Sam Ukala said that the Prize / Award Presentation for the first , second and third best Students in the competition would hold on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at the same venue in Asaba.
