The Delta State Government has equipped hundreds of thousands youths with basic literacy skills.
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa disclosed this yesterday as the world marked international literacy day.
In his verified Twitter account, okowa said the skills of reading and writing were doors that break down the barriers of opportunities, adding that these skills connect people to new ideas.
The governor who is also the vice presidential candidate of PDP said that his government had been able to build a stronger Delta that placed premium on quality education.
Okowa tweeted :’Reading and writing are doors. They are gateways that break down the barriers to opportunities because they help to connect people to new ideas and new ways of doing things.
This is why, today as we join the world to commemorate International Literacy Day, we are proud that over the years, we have been able to build a stronger Delta that has equipped hundreds of thousands of our children with basic literacy skills.’
